It’s night time where I am and I’m trying to sleep (to no avail) because I have this huge calculus test tomorrow. And you know what? I found myself thinking about Kriegs and how far she’s come in the past six months. A person with so much heart and so much passion for what she does is just such a beautiful thing to see. Remember those times over a year ago when we’d end the day with Ali Krieger posts? Regardless of what had happened that day? And everyone would post and our dash would be nothing but Ali Krieger and her perfect everything? Because I do. And they put a smile on my face. And it’s all the more beautiful how longstanding people have supported her, day in and day out, in person or via social networks, sending care packages or kind words. And now? Now I can’t wait for the day Ali steps onto the field at the international level for the first time since her injury, wearing that number eleven and that US Soccer crest proudly. And what else? That everyone will be standing behind her, cheering her on and supporting her just like some of you have been doing since day one. Tears will be shed, flails will occur, and screams will erupt. And what a day that will be indeed.

This photo will forever amuse me. GO ON WITHOUT ME.
When I met Ali after their training at the Home Depot Center in December, I asked her to sign this US Soccer shirt I had bought a while back.

It already had a bunch of signatures from the other girls, but she took the time to really hold the shirt out, find the dead center of the shirt between the two number ones, and sign the shirt within the number eleven.

And Hope, Tobin, ARod, and Abby signed the general area within the number eleven, but Kriegs still put the effort into signing it between the signatures, regardless of how little the space was. So when someone looks at the shirt, dead center is Alexandra Blaire Krieger’s autograph with the number eleven. So I pretty much have an inception shirt. There is a number eleven signed by Kriegs… within the number eleven of the shirt. We must go deeper.
Okay this post is meaningless, but I just wanted to express my love for such a selfless person. I have repeatedly died from Krieger Fever, and will happily continue to do so.

Did that get your attention? Perfect. Now we all know that Kriegs is having surgery soon, and kicksave, who happens to live in the same town as Kriegs, is pulling together a “Care Package” for her. If you want to donate a couple of spare dollars to help out, you can donate here. Also, just message her if you’ve got any ideas on what else to give her. If you can’t donate, don’t worry about it. She already knows how loved she is, and it’s the thought that counts. #liebe
Edit: Also, have you read this awesome article on the fandom? And Julie is “kicksave.” #somuchlove
